Airtest Signs Distribution Agreement For Revolutionary Low Power, Infrared Gas Sensing Technology

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

AIRTEST SIGNS DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT FOR REVOLUTIONARY LOW POWER, INFRARED GAS SENSING TECHNOLOGY

DELTA, BC, January 19, 2012 - AirTest Technologies (TSXV: AAT) is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with Gas Sensing Solutions (GSS) of Glasgow Scotland to distribute their COZIR CO2 sensor platform to the North American market. This platform represents a breakthrough in CO2 sensing technology in that it consumes 50 times less energy than conventional CO2 sensors, can measure up to 100% CO2, is resistant to jarring and shock, and can be configured to sample from 2 to 20 times per second.

The COZIR technology is unique in that it represents the first mass-produced gas sensor that utilizes an infrared light emitting diode (LED) that allows for ultra-low power performance and extremely fast sampling time. Conventional CO2 sensors use an incandescent light source that is much more fragile and requires significantly more power to operate. According to George Graham, President of AirTest, "This product opens up a lot of new opportunities for both our own products and for our OEM customers. For example with the low power characteristics of this sensor we can address applications in the growing wireless and portable sensor markets as well as the fire detection market." Graham added that, "The fast sampling time also allows us to begin to address certain medical and industrial markets with a fast sampling product that costs far less than any other solutions available to them.. "

The COZIR technology is built upon millions of dollars and many years of research on infrared LED based gas sensing undertaken by the United Kingdom military. According to Alan Henderson, Director of Gas Sensing Solutions, "In licensing the fundamental military patents in this area we were able to quickly develop the first LED/photodiode based, low cost CO2 sensor that has applicability to an extremely wide range of market applications." Henderson added "We are very pleased to be working with AirTest, who have established themselves as a leading player in the growing business of measuring and controlling CO2 in a number of commercial and industrial segments."

AirTest will be introducing the full GSS sensor offering at Booth 3827 at the annual AHR trade show of the building control industry that takes place January 23 to 25, 2012 at Chicago's McCormick Place. The show is expected to draw approximately 60,000 building owners, engineers and contractors.
